Sarah Scott Middle School is one of seven Indiana schools to be awarded School Improvement Grants.
The more than $8 million will be handed out over the next three years.
Out of that Sara Scott will receive just over $900,000.
Indiana Superintendent of Public Instruction, Glenda Ritz said the money will be going to schools that demonstrate a great need for these funds as well as a commitment to use these funds to raise achievement levels.
The purpose of the grant is to provide public school districts with additional funds and resources to assist their persistently lowest-achieving schools.
