Sunday afternoon Indiana State Police stopped a truck on US41 at SR154 in Sullivan County to perform a commercial vehicle inspection.
The truck was pulling a homemade trailer that was 17, 500 pounds overweight.
Other violations included failure to pay for fuel tax permit, air leaks, no annual inspection, inoperable lighting, damaged tires, no safety equipment and non-working trailer brakes.
The truck was impounded until repairs are made and the load is reduced and towed to Terre Haute.
The driver was 54-year-old Harold Kelley of Shelburn was sighted.
The tractor-trailer was owned by Shortline Amusements of Shelburn.
