More than 100 state legislators from 33 states are meeting at the Indiana Statehouse to talk about a possible convention to amend the U.S. Constitution. Indiana Senate President Pro Tem David Long, R-Fort Wayne, is heading up the event.
Many think that a convention is unlikely.
The founding fathers may have made a convention possible but they also made it extremely difficult.
The ultimate goal would be to force the country back on a path to reducing and eliminating deficits through an amendment to the constitution.
This is just one of two ways to amend the constitution.
The other is for Congress to propose an amendment and then have the states to ratify it.
