Ed Sheeran 's upcoming album X (Multiply) was originally going to have profanity on it...but he changed his mind after a cab ride.
At least one song on the album, "Don't," contained the "f-word," and while Ed might sing that in concert, the album version, which was just released on iTunes, does not include the profanity. Ed explains why in a Twitter posting, writing, "My whole album is clean. I took all of the explicit lyrics out after a taxi driver convinced me to do it for his daughter. That's the truth."
A slew of tracks from X (Multiply) will be released to iTunes all next week, leading up to the release of the disc on June 23. After the release of "Don't" early on Friday, Ed announced via Twitter later in the day that the song was "#1 in 24 countries now," adding, "So so epic."
