A plea deal for an accused child abuser has not been accepted by the judge in the case.
40 year old Larry Russell admitted to abusing his three adopted children.
One of those children was found walking down 3rd street with no shoes after climbing out of a second story bedroom window.
In all three teens were found to have been locked in a bedroom with out food, water or bathroom facilities.
Russell was sentenced to 10 years which was the maximum for the crimes involved.
The State of Indiana and an appellate court said that some of the limits used in sentencing didn’t apply in this case, so now Russell could be sentenced to a maximum of 68 years in prison.
A date for the re-sentencing hearing has not yet been set.
