A helping hand for thousands of military members and their families who were scammed.
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and his counterparts in 12 other states have reached a settlement with Rome Finance.
Zoeller says the company was targeting military members with bad loans by not telling them the real finance charges, and not disclosing all terms as required.
The total settlement clears $92 million of debt for more than 17,000 members of the military.
More than $1.5 million of that was owed by 261 military members from Indiana.
