Highway construction season is in full swing around the Valley, the state and the country.
Locally, traveling I-70 in the construction zones can turn deadly.
So far this season three people have been killed and that’s more than last year.
We still haven’t surpassed 2012 but the year is far from over.
Indiana State Police say that the main reason for the crashes is drivers not slowing down and not paying attention.
State Police have at least one officer and sometimes more patrolling the construction zones but hasn’t solved the problem.
For now you are urged to pay attention and lookout for those that aren’t, or you might just want to avoid the interstate and take US 40 between Terre Haute and Indianapolis.
