The man who allegedly shot and killed an Indianapolis police officer has now been officially charged with murder.
25 year old Major Davis Jr.,allegedly shot Officer Perry Renn with an AK-47 rifle.
Autopsy results show that Officer Renn was hit three times.
One hit him under the right armpit, striking his right lung and heart.
He was also shot through his vest and his leg.
The Marion County Prosecutor has not yet decided whether to pursue the death penalty or a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Court documents show that Davis’ mother purchased the rifle for him.
Davis was last reported in critical but stable condition.
