Bruno Mars isn't a TV star, and he's never written a TV theme, but that hasn't stopped him from getting an Emmy nomination.
Bruno is up for "Outstanding Short-Format Live-Action Entertainment Program," for his acclaimed Super Bowl halftime performance earlier this year. You may recall that the show broke all previous viewing records to become the most watched halftime show in history, drawing 115.3 million viewers. Bruno also made history by being the youngest artist ever to headline a Super Bowl halftime show solo.
The competition in the category includes Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis: President Barack Obama , Children’s Hospital , Parks and Rec in Europe and The Soup: True Detective . The Grammys will be handed out Monday night, August 25 on NBC.
By the way, the day before, Sunday, August 24, is the MTV Video Music Awards, so who knows? Bruno may end up being nominated -- or winning -- at that event as well.
