The Indiana Department of Transportation is set to begin a pavement project on Indiana 46 in Clay and Owen Counties this week.
The roadway will be chip and sealed from Indiana 59 to Indiana 246. Traffic will be controlled by arrow boards and flagmen in the work area.
You might be better off avoiding the area completely if possible.
Workers will spread liquid asphalt on the roadway and then cover that with crushed stone.
Officials say that this extends the life of a roadway.
It can also make a mess of your car until all of the lose stone is sealed or swept off the roadway.
Lose stone can also cause chipped paint and possible break glass if you drive to fast on it.
