Ariana Grande is the first performer announced for this year's MTV Video Music Awards.
She delivered the news Wednesday on MTV's Total Ariana Live special. She'll perform her new single, "Break Free," at the ceremony, which will be held August 24 in Los Angeles.
Last year, Ariana performed during the VMAs pre-show.
The timing could not be more perfect for Ariana's return to the VMAs. She'll release her second album, My Everything , on August 25, one day after the award show.
