There is a new system now in place that will help the Indiana Department of Correction to keep an eye on prison inmates across the state.
This new system is called LENS which stands for The Law Enforcement Notification System.
Law enforcement can obtain real-time custody information on offenders currently housed in Indiana’s 20 adult correctional facilities or on work release or parole.
LENS will also give officers the ability to search for offender photos and detailed information such as gang affiliations and sex offender status.
It’s all an effort to keep better track of offenders and give officials better information when it’s needed.
