Sara Bareilles has written hit songs, but now she's going to try her hand at penning something a bit longer. Entertainment Weekly reports that the singer will spend next month finishing a book of autobiographical essays.
"I want to explore being a writer for musical theater. I want to explore being a book writer," Sara tells the magazine. Looks like she'll be able to accomplish both goals: Simon & Schuster has already made a deal to publish the book and, as previously reported, Sara is also working on writing the music for a Broadway musical based on the 2007 cult film Waitress .
Those are her goals professionally, but Sara also tells the magazine, "I want to maybe have babies at some point. There's a million things I want to do, and the most exciting part about that is that it's not totally focused on the next radio hit. I want a full life."
This Sunday, Sara will be competing for the Album of the Year Grammy trophy for her current disc The Blessed Unrest , and for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit "Brave." However, she's not really expecting to win. As she tells EW, "I feel slightly unattached to the outcome, just because [the nominations were] such a shock. At the same time, I almost feel like, 'S**t, I already won.'"
