Rose-Hulman Senior Julian Strickland scored 33 points on Saturday, but none bigger than the 3-pointer he nailed with less than a minute to play to lift the Engineers past Mount St. Joseph 65-60. Sophomore Jimmy Miller also scored in double figures with 11 points and the Engineer defense held the Lions without a field goal in the final 5 minute to look up the victory. Rose Hulman pushes their winning streak to nine games and improve to 12-3 and 7-1 and are now in sole possession of first place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference. The Engineers will now travel to Hanover on Wednesday to face Hanover.
The Rose Hulman Women Basketball squad got back on track thanks to a 64-48 victory over Mount St. Joseph in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday. Senior Kelsey Ploof led the charge with 14 points and Jamie Loving added a career high 11 in the win. The Engineers now move to 7-8 overall and 5-3 in the conference. They return to action on Wednesday when they host Hanover.
