The city council of Terre Haute might decide to give an opinion on the proposal to insert into the Indiana Constitution a ban on same-sex marriage.
At the last week’s city council meeting, Councilman Todd Nation introduced a resolution that would have the council oppose the same-sex marriage amendment. Several cities, mayors and businesses have already spoken out against the ban.
Nation and others seem to think that there could be an economic backlash if Indiana keeps gays from getting married.
The resolution will be voted on in the February 13 city council meeting.
