It’s colder this winter than last winter and because of that it should be no surprise that Vectren Energy customers are seeing higher natural gas bills.
Bills vary by customer depending many variables.
In October, Vectren projected the average customer would pay a total of $530 for November through March heating with slightly higher gas prices.
Vectren reminds you maintain your furnace or replace it with a more energy efficient model.
You might also use budget billing to spread the more expensive winter months over the usually less expensive summer months.
Vectren also has ways for you to donate to those less fortunate to help with their heat bulls and if you are one of those having problems with your bill you might want to apply to the Energy Assistance Program.
Those that fall within 150 percent of federal poverty guidelines should visit their local community action agency to sign up for the program.
