A Parke County teacher is off the job while an investigation into transactions related to union dues is underway.
Southwest Parke Schools and the Southwest Parke Education Association are not under investigation.
Melissa McMullen is a teacher at Montezuma Elementary, and is now on paid leave from her teaching duties.
McMullen’s attorney, Mike Ellis told the Trib – Star that he does not believe the acts they are investigating reach the level of criminal activity.
She has held several positions with the Union and other educational organizations over the course of her career including former president of the Southwest Parke Education Association.
Indiana State Police said they cannot comment on an open investigation. So right now we do not know what they are really investigating.
