Many miles of Illinois interstate highways were supposed to start seeing the speed limit increase to 70mph.
You can only drive the new faster speed when the signs go up.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says that the recent winter storm has made the process take much longer than it was supposed to.
IDOT hoped to install about 900 new 70-mph signs by Jan. 17.
Officials say don’t driver faster than the posted limit.
They also say that they are working as fast as they can.
