Both the Indiana State Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams continued their strong start in Missouri Valley Conference play. On Saturday, the ISU Mean remained perfect in Valley play with a 62-59 win vs. Bradley in front of a crowd of over 5,500 at the Hulman Center. Jake Odum led the Sycamores with 12 points and both Justin Gant and Dawon Cummings chipped in with 11 points each. This marks only the third time in program history that ISU have begun conference play at 4-0 and the first time since the 1978-79 season. The win is also the Sycamores sixth in a row who are on 13-3 on year.
Teri Moren’s Women’s team also remained perfect in conference play thanks to a 47-44 victory vs. Illinois State. The Sycamore “D” held the Redbirds to just 20 points in the second half holding them to 30% shooting. Marina (Ma-rin-a) Laramie (Lara-me) led the attack with 13 points and a game high 10 rebounds. The Sycamores are now 9-6 overall and 4-0 in the Valley.
