Amazon.com has begun collecting sales tax on purchases by Indiana residents.
Former Gov. Mitch Daniels brokered a deal with Amazon in 2012 for the retailer to begin collecting Indiana's 7-percent sales tax.
The mega online retailer has warehouses in Indianapolis, Plainfield, Whitestown, and in Jeffersonville. Some have said that online retailers had an unfair advantage when they did not have to collect sales tax.
