The Indiana Legislature is moving closer to dropping the Common Core education standards.
The Indiana House voted to drop Common Core.
The Senate has also approved the idea and voted in favor of having the State Board of Education to draft new standards outlining what students should be learning in each grade by July 1st.
The bill would require testing on the new standards during the 2015-16 school year.
The bill will become law when it is signed by Governor Mike Pence.
