Indiana is famous for its limestone.
Now a mine where that limestone has come from for the past 88 years will be closing.
Bloomington-based Indiana Limestone Co. Inc. says that it will close and lay off its entire workforce as the result of pending bankruptcy.
The company supplied limestone for the Empire State Building, the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C., and 35 state capitol buildings.
The closing will take about 14-days and be completed by May 11th.
