It has been a hard winter for people and animals.
The Exotic Feline Rescue Center in Clay County Is home to more than 225 big cats.
While the cats are used to the snow, this unusually harsh winter landed five of them in the vet.
The center could see more than $60,000 in vet bills just trying to keep the cats healthy in the severe winter weather and that doesn’t count the increasing propane bills for heat.
The center has an annual budget of $700,000 which equals approximately $3,000 per cat.
The weather is a strain on the cats and those that care for them.
The facility relies on donations and visitors but the weather has cut the number of visitors.
