Friday afternoon Indiana State Police were kept busy responding to multiple crashes and slide-offs along Interstate 70, mostly in Clay and Putnam Counties, US 41 in Vigo and Sullivan Counties, and State Road 63 in Northern Vigo and Vermillion Counties.
There were no life-threatening injuries reported in any of the crashes; however, some minor injuries were reported. The overwhelming cause for the crashes and slide-offs were drivers operating vehicles too fast for conditions. Common sense would dictate that drivers should slow down, use caution, and not follow other vehicles too closely. As many troopers and other law enforcement officials can attest, common sense was in short supply Friday.
