The Department of Education has announced polices to guide the make-up of snow days for school districts in Indiana.
School districts can reschedule holidays, hold classes on Saturdays, or extend the school year without seeking a state waiver.
They can make the school day last longer and ask for a conditional waiver when they have made up an equal amount of time.
Schools will get waivers for two days during a winter storm that hit the state in January.
If school districts don’t complete the required 180 days of instructional time they could get hit with financial penalties.
Vigo County now has three days that will need to somehow be made up.
