Plans moving forward for a new charter school in Dugger.
Once the Northeast Sullivan School Corporation vacates the schools in Dugger then under state law the Dugger Union Community School Corporation can buy them for just a dollar each.
That group wants to operate charter schools with help from various organizations.
Official filings must be made with the state by February 24th and then the state will have to approve the idea.
The new school group will be able to keep Union High School memorabilia including trophies, sports uniforms and pictures.
They won’t get the equipment inside.
They say that they hope to have enough money to buy those items from Northeast Sullivan at auctions.
