The Vigo County School Board will meet in regular session tonight and on the agenda is a long-term lease agreement with the city for a portion of Voorhees Park so that a new school pool facility can be built.
The lease is for 75 years in total with a price of $1 per year.
The $9.8 million project will replace pools currently in use at the three county high schools.
If all goes according to plan the pool should open in August 2015. The board will also discuss the renovation of Hoosier Prairie Elementary in southern Vigo County.
The project will add interior walls and doors to the school which was built with an open concept design.
The project will also address occasional water intrusion and energy efficiency issues.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. in the administration building, 686 Wabash Ave.
