Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller and his office are taking steps to help consumers who face critically low propane levels and experience supplier issues. If your propane tank’s supply is at 10 percent or less and you have trouble contacting your supplier, or cannot find an alternative supplier, should contact the attorney general’s office.
The number to call is 1-800-382-5516.
The AG’s office will reach out to suppliers on the customer’s behalf to determine the reason for delayed delivery or failure to respond and they will help to get things moving if possible. Zoeller says that state law allows exceptions to have another service fill your tank in times of crisis. Hoosiers who want to report suspected price gouging can file a complaint by visiting www.IndianaConsumer.com or by calling 1-800-382-5516 to request a complaint form.
