Yesterday we told you how the state of Illinois dropped Northstar Lottery Group that was hired to run that states lottery.
Northstar is a partnership between Gtech and Scientific Games.
Gtech runs the Hoosier Lottery and Monday we learned that Gtech will owe the Hoosier Lottery about $1.6 million for falling short of its goal in the 2014 fiscal year, which ended June 30.
The shortfall payment represents less than 1 percent of the total income, $256 million.
While Gtech fell short of its goal, total sales exceeded $1 billion, the largest amount in the Hoosier Lottery's 25-year history.
Indiana uses lottery revenue to offset vehicle excise taxes and make payments to police, fire and teacher pension funds, among other allocations.
