Indiana is trying to clear the voter rolls of names of people who are either dead or just don’t live here anymore.
Secretary of State Connie Lawson says that she has marked 696,000 registrations "inactive”.
Postcards were sent out in July to identify invalid voter registrations.
If the postcards were returned as undeliverable or not returned by the due date, the registration was marked "inactive."
If someone from an "inactive" address goes to the polls by November 2016, that registration automatically becomes active again.
