Indiana State University, which is a state funded school, is going to charge its students more if they want to use the university facilities for events.
It’s not always parties but many student groups will have events to provide community services or raise money to provide those services.
Now ISU police will raise prices for using the student Union from $325 to $400 for just security.
If student groups should want to use the Recreation center the price will nearly double from $625 to $1200.
Of course you can’t shop around, it’s a monopoly, you have to use ISU security.
ISU officials claim that they are charging less than their cost.
Some student groups will have to look at their budgets and some may not be able to hold some of their charitable events unless they can make increased contributions to ISU Police.
Those in the community wanting to use the State facilities at ISU will also face increased costs.
