A 68-year-old Illinois man has been arrested for allegedly placing sewing needles into packaged meat at a grocery store.
Authorities say Ronald Avers has done this at least seven times over the past year and they have store surveillance video of the crime.
All of the incidents happened at the Shop ‘n Save store in Belleville just east of St. Louis.
None of the cases resulted in serious injury.
Avers is facing seven counts and a maximum of 10 years in prison and $250,000 fine for each count.
