The Environmental Protection Agency clean up of a site on the cities southwest side is almost complete.
The area just off Prairieton Road will be the site of a new combined sewer overflow holding area and a walking trail by the river.
The site was donated to the city by Sugar Creek Scrap.
The area was contaminated by a dangerous amount of lead.
The contaminated soil will be contained and properly disposed of at the Sycamore Ridge Landfill.
Once the EPA cleanup is complete the city will dispose of other trash on site.
