The Vigo County Sheriff's Department is staying busy.
The department is always trying to come up with new leads to help solve old cases.
It is an effort that is paying off as earlier this year, detectives solved the 15-year-old murder of Erika Case.
Over the last ten years the sheriff's department has solved around five cold cases. Retired sheriff, Bill Harris, volunteers his time looking at these cases.
This extra effort and new technology do help but it does take time.
There have been 11 unsolved cases since 1975 here in Vigo County.
Officials say that they may have new information on another cold case to report this week.
