A million dollar water project for the Clay County Community of Knightsville has been put on hold.
The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs wants to know the reason behind the towns current water system losses.
The engineering company hired to help with town with the project couldn’t answer that question and they also couldn’t explain the need for a water tower included in the plans.
Midwest Engineering also had not planned for a needed easement for a water meter pit.
The town was also upset that some needed water lines had been left out of the plans.
State officials have recommended the town pursue a contract with a different engineering company and now the search for that company is on.
