The Terre Haute City Council met last night and decided not to decide on several important issues.
The council voted to delay consideration of an ordinance intended to reduce graffiti in the city.
Some council members wanted more clarification on just what was “graffiti” and what was “street art” and who gets to decide.
The council also voted to delay decisions on several matters that would allow the council to hire its own financial consultant. The expected cost of this consultant is expected to run around $15,000.
Some members of the council feel that they need the added help in deciding how to handle city budget issues.
There are some on the council who aren’t sure that the extra advice is needed.
In another matter the council decided that the city would vacate part of an ally that runs behind the Pizza Hut at 3rd and Voorhees. The owners of the restaurant plan to demolish the current facility and build a new one.
