Justin Bieber has a "dark secret," according to a man who knows a thing or two about being a teen idol: Rob Lowe . And he's now revealed it to Oprah Winfrey.
In an interview that aired on Oprah Prime on Sunday, Oprah notes that Lowe became a teen heartthrob at age 15, and asked the actor what he thinks when he looks at someone like Justin Bieber now. "I have tremendous empathy," replies Lowe. "He makes really good music, but I think he knows the dark secret. And the dark secret is that 80% of his audience doesn't give a sh*t about the music. He knows it. It bums him out."
So what does Justin's audience care about?
"They care about lemming-think, and their girlfriends and who's oohing and ahhing and screaming," Lowe told Oprah. "It has nothing to do with what he's doing as an artist. He is the guy who is standing in front of them at a moment that they're going through a developmental thing. And it's natural, it's all great, but if it wasn't him, it'd be somebody else. Like it was me."
