Sunday afternoon around 2:00pm, an Indiana State Police trooper and a motorist collided on State Road 46 near County Road 525 West.
State Police say that 42 year old ISP Master Trooper Matthew K. Ames, of Terre Haute, IN. had all of his lights on and was in pursuit of a speeding vehicle when he attempted to pass a minivan driven by 57-year-old Bill Tripp of Ellington, Missouri.
Tripp abruptly slowed and made a left turn in front of Ames.
Ames attempted to avoid the impact but hit the rear of the van.
Bill Tripp and his wife who was a passenger were transported to Terre HauteRegionalHospital for treatment of possible non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
