Some segments of Ameren’s Illinois Rivers Transmission Project were approved by the Illinois Commerce Commission on Aug. 20.
The approval includes a path in Edgar and Clark County.
The power line plan will likely be tied up in court challenges for a while.
Ameren will seek a rehearing because the ICC rejected parts of the 300-mile transmission line and areas for substations across Illinois.
If some landowners feel that they were not properly notified regarding the proposed route and they want re-dress before the ICC they must file a petition to intervene and petition for rehearing with the ICC by Sept. 19.
If they don’t file by then they will lose their rights.
Land owners are being warned that a Texas land-rights firm has been aggressive in obtaining right-of-way agreements.
All landowners should obtain legal council before signing anything.
Ameren does not have eminent domain at this time so they can not take land.
