No charges will be filed in the death of a Terre Haute 2 year old.
The Vigo County Prosecutor’s office has reviewed the case and decided that the incident was not a criminal act.
Officials state that the approach to this case was that if a crime had been committed that could have been proven beyond a reasonable doubt, a charge or charges would have been filed.
The child was left in the father’s truck and died of hyperthermia.
When the child was rushed to the hospital, officials say that the child had a body temperature of 108 degrees and that the temperature in the vehicle could have easily been over 120 degrees.
