At 6:00pm on Sunday, a drunk driver nearly five times the legal limit, caused a three vehicle crash on State Road 46 near Old Riley Road. Preliminary investigation revealed a white 2003 Kia van was eastbound on State Road 46 approaching two vehicles that were stopped to make a left turn into the Maryland Community Church. The Kia van, driven by 42-year-old Janeen L. Sackett of Terre Haute, failed to slow or stop and struck a maroon 2000 Chevrolet S 10 driven by 19-year-old Zachary Moore in the rear. The S10 was pushed forward into the rear of a maroon 2005 Dodge Neon driven by 36-year-old Christina M. Anderson of Terre Haute. Janeen Sackett appeared intoxicated at the scene and attempted to walk away from the crash. She was detained by off-duty Terre Haute Police Officer Justin Sears until arrival of ISP troopers. Sackett was transported to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for an alcohol test and was found to test .39% BAL. No injuries were listed in the crash. Sackett was incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail on preliminary charges of Operating While Intoxicated with a Prior, D felony; Driving While Suspended, Prior (Misdemeanor); Operating While Intoxicated-Endangering, Misdemeanor, and Aggressive Driving (Misdemeanor).
