The Vigo County Sheriff’s Office has sent a press release yesterday wanting us to tell you that if you have business at the Vigo County Court House next week, be ready for greatly increased security.
22 year old William Mallory of Indianapolis is accused of shooting three people near the Ballyhoo Tavern in August of 2012.
Dustin Kelly of Terre Haute died as a result of those wounds.
Last summer when Mallory appeared in court there was a fight in the court room between members of Mallory’s and Kelly’s families.
During the trial next week, everyone including courthouse staff will have to show photo ID and go through two metal detectors.
The sheriffs department says that they have not been told or tipped of something that might happen but they will not be taking any chances.
Police ask that if you are coming to the courthouse for any reason, allow more time to go through security, and try to limit the number of items you are bringing in.
