A Greencastle woman was arrested on Thursday and is facing a felony theft charge.
Jean Haynes, 44, was in charge of depositing the money raised on soda, candy and popcorn sales at Greencastle High School games. Instead of depositing the money Haynes decided to put the cash in her pocket.
Haynes now faces six months to three years in prison along with a $10,000 fine after she stole approximately $7,000 from the Greencastle High School All-Sports Booster Club from December 2012 through March 2013.
Haynes pled not guilty in court on Friday. She claims that she misplaced all the money during a move to a new address and was planning on paying it back with her tax check.
A pretrial conference is scheduled for December 5th.
