The Terre Haute City Council passed a new 2014 budget at last night’s regular meeting.
By a 4 to 3 vote the council approved the $89 million budget.
The state will now review the budget and give the city a firm total of revenue within the next few weeks.
The state has not issued the exact amount of property tax money that will be coming to the city but the Mayor says that they are working with conservative numbers.
The mayor says that with this budget there will be no layoffs, employees will see a small raise and the city's effort to get the general fund under control will continue.
