Vigo County Sheriff Gregg Ewing is keeping a close eye on the total jail population after a law suit was filed by the ACLU alleging overcrowding.
At one point 45 inmates were shipped to the Knox county jail to get the total population under the maximum capacity.
22 inmates are still in the Knox county jail.
Sheriff Ewing says if there are large events around the county, there tends to be more arrests.
With ISU homecoming this weekend, you can bet that officials will keep close tabs on the jail population.
