Indiana State University Home Coming is this weekend and as usual the Indiana State Excise Police will be on the lookout for any problems.
Officers from all law enforcement agencies will look out for people that are highly intoxicated and bringing attention to themselves.
That means urinating in public or being found passed out on a sidewalk will likely get you arrested.
The addition of portable toilets along Wabash has helped to alleviate many problems. Officers will be patrolling Wabash Avenue from downtown to the stadium on the city’s east side.
That is the route for “The Walk”.
It has turned into a tradition for many students and alumni that is not so popular with university officials or city residents.
“The Walk” is where the party crowd tries to hit every bar between campus and the stadium.
Officers say that they are more interested in keeping everyone safe than writing tickets or taking people to jail.
