The Vigo County School Corp. Festival of Trees at Honey Creek Mall is now on display.
The event is a fundraiser for its backpack program and the Shoe Bus, which benefit needy children. Twenty schools decorated 21 trees with various themes.
The trees have been set up between J.C. Penney’s and Carson’s and will be there through Dec. 7.
The trees will be raffled at 1:30 p.m on the 7th.
On that day several of the school choirs will perform and other events will be held.
Last year, the event raised over $5,000 for the programs.
The backpack program costs about $1,500 each week and sends food home with students each weekend.
The Shoe Bus provides footwear and socks to children in need.
