The Edgar County Sheriff’s Department says that they were called when a passerby spotted two burning planes at the Edgar County airport Monday night.
Now local and federal officials are investigating to find how the fire happened.
Reportedly one of the planes was spray painted with the message, “This is our airport.”
The other plane was spray painted with a message for “Rob”.
It is believed that “Rob” may be Robert Bogue.
He is the father of pilot Rusty Bogue who was killed in a plane crash near the airport back in August.
It is believed that the planes that went up in flames along with the one that crashed were owned by Bryan Phillips of Terre Haute who owns Venezia Marine Inc. and Invictus Investments.
Police are continuing to investigate.
