For the first time since 1988, the Rose-Hulman Football team can call themselves conference champions. The Engineers captured a share of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference title with Franklin College, thanks to a 53-15 victory over Earlham.
Ryan Landwehr threw for 243 yards on 23-30 passing and 5 Touchdowns. The senior also ran for 59 yards and 2 more scores. Rose finished their season at 7-3 overall, and the conference title is the 11th in the programs 119 year history.
Ryann-Rebecca Montgomery outstanding career at Rose-Hulman will continue as the senior from Louisanna finished 3rd at the Great Lakes Cross Country Regional in Grand Rapids, Michigan earning her a place at the NCAA-DIII National Meet. Montgomery broke her own school 6K record by running a 21:44. She will take part in the D-III National Meet on Nov. 23rd at Hanover College.
The Men’s Cross Country also had a strong showing placing 11th overall. It is the best finish for the Men’s team in 25 years. Stuart West paced the Engineer’s with a 28th place finish earning him All-Region Honors.
