The Vigo County Council's last meeting of the year was held last night.
Several items were addressed.
The council decided that there will be no feasibility study done on a proposed new splash park.
While several agreed it would be nice, the council is holding on to the counties money until it is decided how the overcrowding problems with the jail will be handled.
As of now it looks like Vigo County might have to build a new jail and the council wants to make sure that the county can afford it.
The council also gave final approval to move ahead with the transition to voting centers for the 2014 election.
This was the final step in the process.
18 voting centers will replace the current precincts county wide on election day.
Two weeks before an election the county annex will be open for absentee ballot voting.
Then, one week before an election, seven of the voting centers will open for absentee ballot votes.
Vigo County has 76,382 registered voters.
